About the role
A single-principal investment office in New York is hiring a Chief of Staff to translate the principal's intent into execution across the office. You will run the operating cadence, own cross-functional projects that touch investments and philanthropy, prepare decision memos, and be the trusted second read on incoming opportunities. The seat is designed for a senior operator who has either scaled a company or worked inside a top-tier fund or family office and is now looking for a long-term principal partnership.
Responsibilities
- ·Own the principal's operating cadence: weekly priorities, quarterly planning, annual review
- ·Draft decision memos, briefings, and stakeholder communications
- ·Manage cross-functional projects spanning investments, real estate, and philanthropy
- ·Serve as the primary liaison to outside counsel, accountants, and advisors
- ·Lead special projects and confidential initiatives on behalf of the principal
- ·Coach and coordinate the internal team of eight across functions
Requirements
- ·10+ years of operating, investing, or strategy consulting experience
- ·Demonstrated ability to hold confidence and manage sensitive information
- ·Strong written communication and structured decision-making
- ·Track record leading through influence, not just authority
Preferred
- ·Prior seat inside a family office, hedge fund, or venture firm
- ·MBA or equivalent operating pedigree
